After the MVP release, you can start sending usage stats to the Data Usage API. There are very simple steps to do so:
Process your usage logs following the MDC Code of Practice.
There is pre-print describing everything you need to do: https://peerj.com/preprints/26505/
The Dash repository has already developed an open source implementation of the log processing capabilities needed. Here it is the Dash How-to-Guideline: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LNlPsdBUdHnE40RePsr1ipRj9DH6G_W8pbOU19JIs9I/edit#heading=h.lodhpsa1knkj
Read the documentation of the Data Usage API in order to prepare usage metrics reports.
There is a small guide in: https://github.com/datacite/sashimi and
Live API reference in https://support.datacite.org/v1.1/reference#metrics-api
Request DataCite for your credentials to push usage metrics to the Data Usage API.
Push your usage metrics.

Ah, great to hear & thanks for the update. I don't think we currently have any capacity to help work on this, but I'm very happy to discuss strategies and make connections. E.g. Kristian, the developer working on this on the DataCite end, has indicated that he'd be willing to join a call if there's interest.Sebastian

Any update on this? In all honesty, we almost certainly won't have time to work on this at QDR, but remain very interested.
Is there a ticket to track this? OK to create one otherwise?
