I'm currently running 4.11 on our test.dataverse and 4.10.1 on the (soon to be) production dataverse.  The question I have is less about dataverse than glassfish javamail.

Has anyone ever setup the javamail smtp credentials using some variety of microsoft enterprise mail?   Yes, google mail would be easier but I'm currently using my own gmail account. That isn't a good solution but so far I haven't been able to acquire a gmail account specifically for dataverse.    My only other option so far is to use a departmental office365 enterprise account.

Thank you,

Hi Jamie,

I haven't set it up but it *should* work. There's some documentation about how to configure SMTP credentials at http://guides.dataverse.org/en/4.11/installation/installation-main.html#mail-host-configuration-authentication

If there's anything confusing in those docs, please feel free to open an issue at https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues

I hope this helps,

Phil

Just my 2 cents: it is way easier and a more flexible setup when you use an MTA installed along Dataverse. Configuring Postfix, SSMTP or others is better documented and bullet-proof.
