Hi everyone!
I am Johanna Fröhlich, senior researcher in the Ludovika University of Public Service, Hungary. I created a Dataverse and a Dataset yesterday with my political scientist colleague for a project we did, but we are very new to this option, and thought that the next day, i.e. today, we would already have the link of the published Dataverse. We just saw that it has to go through a validation process before publication.

Unfortunately, I need to include the citation/link of the Dataverse in the related volume's final proofs until Monday the latest, meaning in 2 working days.

My question is if it is correct to copy the citation of the Dataset (I did not find a citation for the Dataverse on the page)? The important thing would be that it does not change once our Dataverse is approved.

Can anyone help me with an advice in this situation?

I am very grateful for any help!
Thank you in advance,
Johanna

Hi Johanna,

I help with Harvard Dataverse, which is the repository where I think you've created a Dataverse and a Dataset yesterday. I'll email you directly about getting it published.

We usually recommend copying the citation of the dataset if you can, since Harvard Dataverse provides persistent IDs for datasets, and those persistent IDs (the DOIs) are much less likely to change compared to the URLs of Dataverses, which are not given DOIs.

I hope this helps!

All best
Julian
