Delete dataset with large number of files

We cannot delete a unpublished dataset with a large number of file (more that 80.000 file).

We tried to delete all files via interface (select all and then delete), but it does not work.

We tried to delete files in order to make the dataset smaller, but 

- we cannot delete files via API, even a single file. 

- we can delete files via interface, but only up to fifty (maximum per page), that makes the process too long. 

Have you suggestions?
