Language in Datacite export

Hi all,

I'm wondering if any of you are currently exporting Language to Datacite? As you may know, Datacite only allows a single ("primary") language. They know that's not great and there's an RFC from 2024 that proposes to allow multiple languages, but due to the structure of their XML model, that's a breaking change so will have to wait until 5.x of the schema.

It'd be nice to include at least a primary language for now, but I wouldn't know how to pick for multi-lingual items. Any thoughts? (I know other formats have more detailed language options, but that's a different topic).

Hi Sebastian,

Most of our datasets (e-cienciaDatos) don't have more than one language. In cases where a dataset includes several languages, we are sending only the first one. I think that, in these cases, it might be better do not send any language to DataCite.
