Bug? rename of dataverse alias

hi:

bug?  if you rename the Dataverse Alias and save the general settings the page does not redirect to the new URL.  The factual alias is updated but the URL is not updated, which yields a

"Sorry. The dataverse URL you entered does not exist."

response because the URL contains the old alias.

Thanks Gus, this is a known issue that we still need to resolve. This problem occurs immediately after updating the alias but from then on the url uses the new alias.

Just a note regarding support issues: if you feel it is something that needs attention or you need support on, please send an email to dvn_s...@help.hmdc.harvard.edu rather than the group list since there it can be tracked, etc. That said, it's perfectly ok to pose questions whose answer may be of use to others in the group or to see if anyone else has seen the issue.

i would agree in this case that the issue should have gone to the help email address.   i'll try to remember next time.
