Hello,

I am using Dataverse version 5 with a PostgreSQL database, and during the update to version 6, things didn't go as planned, which led me to revert to version 5. While I was on version 6, I was using a preprod database that was supposed to contain the same data as the production database. However, users added data to version 6 before I reverted to version 5. At the same time, users also added data to version 5, which may not necessarily be present in version 6.

My question is as follows: how can I merge these two databases (version 5 and version 6) into a merged database without breaking the constraints in PostgreSQL?

Yikes, sounds messy. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this.

I would suggest serializing datasets to the "native JSON" to then create the dataset in the other system. You'll have to upload files separately, though.
