Hello All,

I am beginning to use Dataverse recently and had a CSV file uploaded and had it pass through the Data Analyzer node. My raw data is in the format YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss and it is being detected as Unicode instead of Date/Time. Is there anyway I can trim it to YYYY-MM-DD and have this field recognized as date?

Appreciate any comments and advise.

Regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,

I'm not sure what's going on with Unicode but the Dataverse documentation says that "yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss" should be supported by the CSV parser as a date format: http://guides.dataverse.org/en/4.8.5/user/tabulardataingest/csv.html#recognized-data-types-and-formatting

Can you please create a small sample CSV file that doesn't have any sensitive data in it (safe to upload to a GitHub issue) and try it on https://demo.dataverse.org to see if you can exercise the bug? To see if you see the same problem? If you can reproduce the bug there, please attach your sample CSV file (you may need to add ".txt") to a new GitHub issue at https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues

Thanks,

Phil
