Hi all,

I am having trouble with my Permalink PID setup after an update. The links generated for one provider are missing the separator and thus point at nothing. Due to historic reasons (https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/10564 ) I have a legacy provider and a new permalink provider set up as follows:

{
  "status": "OK",
  "data": {
    "perma1": {
      "id": "perma1",
      "label": "PermaLink",
      "protocol": "perma",
      "authority": "thz",
      "separator": "/",
      "shoulder": "ds-",
      "identifierGenerationStyle": "randomString",
      "datafilePidFormat": "DEPENDENT",
      "managedSet": "",
      "excludedSet": ""
    },
    "legacy": {
      "id": "legacy",
      "label": "legacy",
      "protocol": "perma",
      "authority": "thz-",
      "separator": "",
      "shoulder": "ds-",
      "identifierGenerationStyle": "random",
      "datafilePidFormat": "DEPENDENT",
      "managedSet": "",
      "excludedSet": ""
    }
  }
}

On Dataverse 6.2 this worked fine, but somewhere during the Update to 6.6, the links for the perma1 provider stopped being generated correctly. The links pointing to these datasets, as well as their citation suggestion, do not contain the "/" anymore:

When I add the slash to the URL manually I can still access the dataset, but all links used in the interface do not work. Does anyone have an Idea what is going on here?

Cheers,
Henning

Not immediately. 6.6 has this PR: #10521 which fixes Permalinks using the right default separator (‘’) when it’s not defined, so if there’s some call to the method changed in that PR instead of the one picking up the separator you define (just below the one changed in the PR) it could cause your issue.  If so, it’s possible that it only affects the ‘legacy settings’ - #10234 introduced new settings – updating might help if you haven’t already.
