Congrats on this release!

Are you aware of any other repositories that support schema.org markup ? I think this opens up some opportunities for presenting research data in Dataverse as linked data on the web, so I've included this in a white paper about discovery of scholarly research that I'm writing with colleagues here in Canada.

Best,
Amber

Hi Amber,

ICPSR and openICPSR, Mendeley Data, and Pangaea support schema.org markup, too.

Now that Dataverse 4.8.4 has been deployed to Harvard Dataverse we've updated the "Comparative Review of Various Data Repositories" spreadsheet to indicate that Harvard Dataverse now exposes metadata in landing page markup using Schema.org/JSON. That spreadsheet is linked from https://dataverse.org/blog/comparative-review-various-data-repositories

I also wanted to say that for anyone who hasn't clicked through to https://dataverse.org/blog/latest-dataverse-update-adds-support-schemaorg it's a very nice write up of this new feature!

Just noticed that figshare has schema.org markup, too. And Google's post about schema.org for datasets references a dataset from data.gov, which has inline schema.org markup.

This is good news.  We definitely plan to use the API to schema.org API endpoint to retrieve citation information.

Hi Raman,

Slightly tangential question - but what's your thinking for using schema.org for citation information vs using the existing content-type negotiation on DOI resolvers?

Best,
Pete
