Title: Data Management Software Developer


The Structural Biology Data Grid (SBDG) at Harvard Medical School is seeking a data management software developer to join our team to build a next generation data publication system for large biomedical datasets and tackle the challenging problems facing the scientific community. In collaboration with Dataverse and Globus, we aim to make biomedical datasets publicly available and facilitate access, citation, and future data analysis by scientists.


We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, but the successful candidate will have a PhD in a quantitative field, preferably with research experience in biomedical sciences or dealing with large datasets. Strong programming experience is essential, ideally in the context of web applications. A working knowledge of distributed version control systems (git, mercurial, etc) and unix shell scripting skills are also necessary.The ideal candidate would be also familiar with a research data management system, databases, and data handling protocols.
