PhilChanging the parent of a dataverse (moving a dataverse from one parent to another) is currently not supported but the steps are described in https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/4406I hope this helps,

Am still reading about changing my hierarchy (on our test dataverse) and getting psyched to do it. The instructions at the link below look straight forward. BUT my question is instead of doing a recursive index on all children, could we just do a Full re-index? Was thinking about using "Reindex in Place".Thanks.Sherry

p.s. You're referring to your "Changing the Dataverse Hierarchy" thread too, of course: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/dataverse-community/e0hh_ULbMBc/YQp6wUt4BAAJPhilI hope this helps,Ah, you're referring to http://guides.dataverse.org/en/4.8.5/admin/solr-search-index.html . Good. :)On my laptop I do a "clear" and a full reindex somewhat often but I have very little data. Reindexing all of the Harvard Dataverse takes a while but this is way more straightforward than trying to figure out which children to reindex. I'd recommend trying your big reorg on a test system.
