Hi everyone,

At #dataverse2017, we’d like to invite you to join other members of the Dataverse Community for lunchtime discussion. On Thursday and Friday, at each lunch table, you can network with those who share similar interests or responsibilities and discuss topics of particular relevance to you. Each table will have its own dedicated discussion topic to kickstart the conversation.

Where we need your help is identifying these potential discussion topics. Please drop us a quick note below to let us know what topics you’d be interested in discussing at our #dataverse2017 lunches!

Thanks,

Danny

I guess it makes sense to do this over the list?

One thing I'd be interested in is "Curation workflows on Dataverse" -- things like how do you handle communicate metadata curation, how do you update file formats (if you think that's needed), how do you communicate with depositors about curation, and anything else I might be forgetting. We've just played through some scenarios in theory/demo, would be great to hear from some of the folks who (I know) have been doing this for some years in the wild.

Yes, I believe the quick note can just be dropped here.

I'd be interested in a lunchtime discussion about the strategic direction Dataverse is taking. Which items on the roadmap are you excited about? Which are unimportant to you? Which items would you like to see in on the roadmap in the future? That sort of thing.

Since we're talking about lunch on two days, I guess I'll also say I'd be interested in a lunchtime discussion about what the Dataverse project is doing right and what we're doing wrong in terms of encouraging and empowering contributions of ideas, bug reports, usability testing, documentation, and code from the community.

Please don't limit yourselves to two topics! What other ideas are out there? :)

On our Dataverse North call yesterday, we mentioned accessibility - could that be a topic?
