The Global Dataverse Community Consortium (GDCC) serves as an international organization that unifies and supports the global Dataverse community. As the Dataverse software is increasingly adopted by organizations worldwide, the GDCC facilitates collaboration and leverages economies of scale to enhance the capabilities and reach of Dataverse repositories. Recognizing the need for structured governance to sustain these efforts, the GDCC aims to formalize its Steering Committee to ensure effective planning, management, and representation of its diverse community.


As an initial step to address one of the recommendations from the Dataverse Sustainability WG, namely to establish a formalized governance of GDCC, we will organize elections of candidates to the GDCC Steering Committee, starting with nominations in a couple of weeks.

If your organization is not a GDCC member yet, now would be a good time to join. As a GDCC member organization, you will be entitled to nominate and elect candidates to the steering committee and make your voice heard. You will also be able to attend the Dataverse Community Meeting 2025 at a discounted fee. Have a look at the GDCC website for more information about how to join GDCC.


The timeline for the nominations and elections will be as follows:

  • Nomination Period: April 28 to May 23, 2025

  • Review of Nominations: May 24‒30, 2025

  • Announcement of Candidates: June 2, 2025

  • Election Dates: June 10‒20, 2025

  • Results Announcement: June 27, 2025
