On the departure of one of our colleagues from IQSS and the Dataverse team

Dear Members of the Dataverse Community,

I’m writing to share a staff transition within our organization, IQSS, and the Dataverse team.

After many years of dedicated service at IQSS, Gustavo Durand will be leaving his role as Senior Software Architect & Technical Lead. Gustavo has been a valued member of our community for 19 years and has made important contributions to our work and to the Dataverse Project. We are grateful for Gustavo’s commitment, expertise, and collegiality over nearly two decades, and we wish him all the best in his next chapter.

As we navigate this transition, we remain firmly committed to the ongoing development, support, and maintenance of Dataverse.

I didn't know it would be possible to see Gustavo leave the Dataverse team! 

Huge thank you to Gustavo for his many many years of Dataverse contributions and collaborations with the Dataverse Community. 

Who will score all the goals for the Dataverse Cup team at future DCMs? ;)

Please share a vision/ your hopes for the future before you leave, Gustavo, maybe we will see you at the next Community Meeting?

I fully agree with Amber and Deidre. Thank you for your long-standing contributions to the Dataverse community—and not least for your pioneering role in bringing football into the community meetings! Curious to see if anyone will ever manage to beat your record for the number of slides presented in 15 minutes. ;-)

Gustavo, thanks for all the contributions and great ideas you brought to the Dataverse community! I'm pretty sure Dataverse will find its way back to you at some point, just look at Merce.

And hey, let's play the all stars Dataverse Cup next year anyway, otherwise you'll have to watch it on DataverseTV! ;)
