Dear Dataverse Community,
We are pleased to share that the Nordic‑Baltic Dataverse Hub (NAISH) – a new NordForsk‑funded regional collaboration – will hold its Kick‑off Meeting on 21–23 April 2026 at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) in Kaunas, Lithuania.
NAISH brings together Dataverse‑driven repositories and research data communities across Norway, Denmark, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Latvia, and Lithuania, with the long‑term aim of establishing a sustainable regional hub for shared expertise, alignment, and capacity building.
Although the kick‑off is primarily a project‑internal working meeting, we are able to welcome a limited number of external participants from the wider Dataverse community. This is a good opportunity to connect with colleagues across the Nordic‑Baltic region, gain insight into early hub activities, and follow discussions around sustainability, federation, certification, and AI‑enhanced repository functions. We are also delighted to feature two highly respected members of the global Dataverse community – Mercè Crosas and Slava Tykhonov – who will contribute keynote talks and serve as expert facilitators during the workshop sessions, bringing invaluable experience in Dataverse development, operations, and AI‑driven innovation.
You can find the full invitation – including program details, keynote speakers, meeting fee and other logistics, as well as the registration link – here.
If you are interested in joining us in Kaunas in person, we encourage you to register as soon as possible (and no later than 25 March 2026), as on‑site capacity is limited. Virtual participation will also be available for selected sessions and requires registration by April 16.
We look forward to connecting with members of the global Dataverse community and sharing the early steps of this new regional initiative.
Best regards,
Philipp Conzett
