Hi everyone,

We’re excited to share that KU Leuven’s review dashboard made by our colleague Ozgur Karadeniz, which tracks Dataset reviews and semi-automates feedback generation is now available in open-source for you to use: https://github.com/libis/rdm-review-dashboard

If you don’t know what this dashboard is, you can view this one-minute screen-recording I made of our pilot environment to get a better idea: https://kuleuven.mediaspace.kaltura.com/media/KU+Leuven+Review+DashboardA+screen+recording/1_fuuts6ic

If you want to know more about the dashboard, you can always contact us at r...@kuleuven.be or by responding to this post. If you’re encountering issues with the code, feel free to add an issue in the GitHub repository.

Kind regards,

Dieuwertje & Ozgur

Hi Dieuwertje & Ozgur,

Thanks for this heads-up and for turning your review dashboard open-source! This looks very interesting. It'd be nice if you could present the tool on a Dataverse community call.

Best,
Philipp

Hi Philipp,

We're definitely up for presenting it in a community call. Though as far as I know, the calls' agendas are pretty well-filled up until October or so. So maybe somewhere after that. But we're always open to it :).

Kind regards,
Dieuwertje

The video is great!

I know it's pretty far out but to build the hype early, the plan is for Ozgur to present the review dashboard on Dec 3. This might change, of course. Please see the planning doc linked from https://dataverse.org/community-calls for what's ahead.

Dear Dieuwertje, dear Ozgur,

The review board demo video looks very impressive! We decided to try out the application here at Bonn University on our dataverse installation "bonndata". At the moment, I am encountering some issues with the code. The application is running without errors (all scripts are also loaded correctly), but I a only get a blank main page. https://bonndata-test.hrz.uni-bonn.de/reviewboard/ui/select Could you give me some hints and a bit of support on the issue?

Thank you very much in advance!
Sergej

I thought my first message disappeared, but it was pending approval. Sorry for the double posting!

Dear Sergej,

Thanks for trying the dashboard! The review dashboard looks for a user id in the request headers, which also needs to be in the reviewers group in Dataverse. The field for the id, and the name of the reviewer group can be set in the backend_config.json For testing, you can add this this id to the headers using a browser plugin such as ModHeader.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Ozgur

Hi Sergej,

Thanks so much for trying the dashboard! Review dashboard looks for a user id in the headers. To use the dashboard, that user must belong to a 'reviewer' group in your installation. You can set the header field that the dashboard checks in the backend_config.json file according to your institutions login system. For testing you can inject this field using a browser plugin such as ModHeader.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Best regards,
Ozgur
