I just wanted to confirm if Navbar logos still can't be in svg format.

Thank you,

Jamie Jamison

Yes, that's correct. Pull requests welcome! I just added some labels to that issue:

- Help Wanted: Code
- Mentor: pdurbin

I can at least point a volunteer at the right part of the code. :)

I wouldn't call this the Navbar logo though. I'd say that issue is about the logo used in a theme at the dataverse level.

As I'm writing this I'm realizing you are probably asking less about that issue and more about the Navabar Logo. I see that http://guides.dataverse.org/en/4.14/installation/config.html#custom-navbar-logo shows a png as an example. I think you might actually be able to use a svg here. Did you try it? Does it work? I don't know.

Thanks,

Phil

I did try to use an svg file but the file did not display, switched back to a png.

Reason why I'm trying to to this is that the png/jpg aren't as sharp as the svg.

Thanks,

Jamie

I just tried this SVG of mine from http://wiki.greptilian.com/greptilian.com/logo.svg and scaled it down to 50x50 using https://www.iloveimg.com/resize-image/resize-svg and it worked fine as a navbar logo. I'm attaching a screenshot.

Maybe it's the size of my graphic.  A 210x50 png file worked fine so I thought that the same size in svg would be ok.   But I'll try making it smaller

The original graphic was in svg format, exported as png from illustrator.
