Image preview missing (Dataverse v5.10.1)

Hello everyone.

I uploaded a dataset with multiple PNG (well, many PNG) and some don't have a preview image while some do.

The PNG entries with missing preview generally appears to be larger (3MB, 7MB, 8MB...) than those with preview.

We checked the documentation but didn't find a mention for the missing PNG preview.

Is there any limit on preview file size?

Hello,

There is a default 3MB file size threshold above which Dataverse won't generate thumbnails: https://guides.dataverse.org/en/latest/installation/config.html#dataverse-dataaccess-thumbnail-image-limit

If you're using S3/remote storage, Dataverse will copy each source file into /tmp to generate the preview, so be wary of a burst of preview generation filling up /tmp after you increase this value.
