Dataverse bridge to Trusted Digital Repositories

Dear all,

DANS (DataverseNL team) is working on the plugin that can extend the functionality of Dataverse with possibility to archive datasets in various Trusted Digital Repositories (TDR). The idea that users can push their data to any supported TDRs like DANS EASY, Fedora, Islandora, Archivematica for long term archiving.

We've managed to create working prototype that I've demonstrated a few days ago in this presentation:  https://www.slideshare.net/vty/cessda-persistent-identifiers

I don't know if this kind of functionality can be interesting for community members but we're planning to push source code to github and publish all related documentation in the middle of July after we'll finish all tests.

Hi Slava,

At our institution we have been discussing how to ensure long-term preservation, so I think this would be a useful feature. I also see that Dataverse has integration with Archivematica on their roadmap. I don't how this integration will differ from your more general(?) TDR solution.

This is interesting. I know that Scholars Portal worked with Dataverse and Archivematica already to package their METS for digital preservation. Maybe Amber could update us as for where they are with this?

Thank your for this interesting info and link. We were just discussing yesterday with Danish Data Archive people on possibilities of integrating Dataverse with long-term archival, so very relevant discussion for us.
