Hi everyone,

Is it possible to export metadata for unpublished datasets? We saw that for published datasets, there are files like "export_OAI_ORE.cached" that shows the metadata of the dataset in JSON format. But for unpublished datasets, we only see uploaded files renamed with storage identifiers, but no other files like "export_dataverse_json.cached" to help with tracing original file name and format or exporting metadata.

Also is it possible to export metrics (view, download, citation) for every dataset entry in a form like "export_OAI_ORE.cached"?

We are also looking into the folder permission to see if there is a file/log showing the user roles involved in a folder. Is there a destination/directory for these configuration to store at?

Thanks,
Jack

Hi Jack,

Yes, it's possible to export draft datasets, but only via API. This was added in https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/pull/11398 for Dataverse 6.7. You can find the announcement in the release notes: https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/releases/tag/v6.7

"`:draft` is supported if you pass an API token that has access." -- the docs at https://guides.dataverse.org/en/6.10.1/api/native-api.html#export-metadata-of-a-dataset-in-various-formats

I hope this helps!

Phil
