I've deactivated a user, thinking that I'd be able to reactivate it after a quick test, but that isn't as easy as I'd guessed.

Is it possible to reactivate a deactivated user?  If not, then could you share the command or the location in the documentation to delete and redefine the user?

Best,
Bob

Hi Bob,

No, reactivating a user is not supported. Deactivating is irreversible per https://guides.dataverse.org/en/6.2/api/native-api.html#deactivate-a-user

It sounds like you might want to delete the user you deactivated. I'm not sure if this will work or not but the command is here: https://guides.dataverse.org/en/6.2/api/native-api.html#delete-a-user

I hope this helps,

Phil

Hi,

A quick follow-up.  I went into the database and un-deactivated my user in the authenticateduser table to reactivate myself.

The two entries changed are…

deactivated        (changed value from ‘t’ to ‘f’)

deactivatedtime    (Removed deactivation date/time)
