Attribute default role to logged user

Hello,

Is it possible to attribute a role when creating account in dataverse using " institutional Account"?
If true, what steps must I follow?

It sounds like you want to assign roles to users who have signed in with an Institutional Account, a Shibboleth account. First you'll need to create an Institution-Wide Shibboleth Group as described at http://guides.dataverse.org/en/4.6/installation/shibboleth.html#institution-wide-shibboleth-groups

Then, you'll assign a role to the group you just created. Just like any group, Institution-Wide Shibboleth Groups, appear in the listing when you click "Assign Roles to Users/Groups".

Hi Phil,

after following the steps of your answer, all institutional logged usre have a defaut role.

Great! Yesterday I left a note on this old ticket that we'd someday like to automate the creation of these Shibboleth groups: https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/issues/1403

The idea is that the first time a user logs in from a new institution, the Institution-Wide Shibboleth Group would be automatically created.
