Everyone,
First as we quickly enter the Holiday Season, I would like to wish everyone a great Holiday and Happy New Year!
And speaking of 2025, we are extremely excited about hosting the 2025 Dataverse Community Meeting here at UNC June 9th-13th! Lots of hard work has already begun and the stage is being set for a wonderful time here in Chapel Hill.
But we all know lots of hard work must happen before the fun begins.
We are seeking volunteers to join our RDMC staff on the 2025 Program Committee!
We already have a draft of the call for proposals that contains the following areas.
- Panels and Presentations
- Posters
- Workshops
-Keynote
One of the tasks in particular we are looking for are one or two volunteers per session format to help review the submissions and help plan the program. If you are interested, please let me know which format you are interested in reviewing by January 25th. I can send the draft call for proposals to those who respond so we can get your feedback on that too.
Please see the projected timeline below for more details on upcoming deadlines:
Look for more opportunities to volunteer in the near future. Don Sizemore is coordinating an exciting Dataverse Hackathon that I am sure will conclude the DCM 2025 with interesting new Dataverse tools and integrations. Look for more information on that as we enter the new year.
Thanks for being such a great community. I hope to see everyone in Chapel Hill!

Subject: [Dataverse-Users] Re: Dataverse Community Meeting 2025
Dear Jonathan and the Dataverse Community,
Thank you for the update on the 2025 Dataverse Community Meeting. I'm excited about the opportunity to contribute to this event and the broader Dataverse initiative.
I'd like to volunteer for the Program Committee, specifically to help review Panels and Presentations or Workshops submissions. My background in XR (Extended Reality) Data Visualization could bring a unique
perspective to the review process, particularly in evaluating innovative approaches to data representation and analysis.
Additionally, I'm interested in submitting a proposal that explores the potential integration of XR technologies with Dataverse. This could showcase how immersive visualization techniques can enhance data
exploration and analysis, making complex datasets more intuitive and accessible to researchers across various disciplines.
My experience includes developing WebXR applications for scientific data visualization, which I believe aligns well with Dataverse's mission to make data more accessible and understandable. I'd be happy to
share examples of my work in this area if there's interest.
I look forward to receiving more information about the volunteer role and the call for proposals. Thank you for your efforts in organizing this event, and I'm eager to contribute to its success and the ongoing
evolution of Dataverse.
Best regards,
Charity Everett
