The dataset fails to download via globus app

Hello,

I have a dataset with over 9000 files and 200GB.

I can download individual files, as well as a few files at a time, via regular download. However, when I try to use globus transfer, I get a spinning wheel on the dataset page, an exception gets thrown in the logs, and nothing happens.

Strangely, it looks like something is going on with a guestbook. But we do not use a guestbook, so I do not know why this error occurs.

I’m attaching the log file, as it is quite long.

Thanks for the stacktrace. It's very helpful. You seem to be running Datavese 6.6 so I'm referencing those line numbers.

The exception is thrown during the save at https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/blob/v6.6/src/main/java/edu/harvard/iq/dataverse/engine/command/impl/CreateGuestbookResponseCommand.java#L34

That save is triggered within the writeGuestbookAndStartTransfer method at https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/blob/v6.6/src/main/java/edu/harvard/iq/dataverse/globus/GlobusServiceBean.java#L1678

As far as what guestbooks have to do with any of this, that method has this comment:

// This helper method is called from the Download terms/guestbook/etc. popup,
// when the user clicks the "ok" button. We use it, instead of calling
// downloadServiceBean directly, in order to differentiate between single
// file downloads and multiple (batch) downloads - since both use the same
// terms/etc. popup.

My take on this (as the comment says) is that the code is trying to show popups (if any) the user must agree to. In the code I think we lump a lot of these speed bumps under "guestbook".

Anyway, this definitely sounds like a bug. If you're willing to create an issue, I'd appreciate it!
