Conventions for file naming and/or any restrictions on the length of file names

Good evening,

I wasn't able to find in any documentation if there are any conventions for file naming and/or any restrictions on the length of file names in Dataverse? The question came from a researcher who is new to Dataverse, and to be honest we never had this question before.

Hi Petra,

Filenames in Dataverse are limited to 255 characters or fewer.

I'm not aware of any particular naming conventions.
