We've been quite busy, but I'd like to re-announce some of the great things we've recently been working on:

*Freedom of Information Requests Summary
*Lobbyist Registry
*Parking Tickets

Also, our new and improved Licence.

Finally, if you haven't checked out our Blog, DATA eh, be sure to see it & subscribe or follow us by email.

Have a look www.toronto.ca/open. Have questions, email us at open...@toronto.ca. Follow us on twitter @Open_TO.

Reham.

Hey, this looks good. Looks like the revocation clauses are gone, so the
data might be usable in projects like OpenStreetMap. Would have been
nice if the licence URL we have to quote was a bit more robust and
memorable, but we chide because we love.

cheers,
Stewart

Love the change in the license. Is there a way of publishing the date of
the license. There is a version number, which is great, but a date would
be just as nice.

@Stewart C. Russell:

Your wish came true, special thanks to Derek. Now you can quote or remember the URL: www.toronto.ca/open/licence

Thanks,
Reham.

Thanks, Reham! Much appreciated.

So if I were to put a section in the OpenStreetMap Contributors' page
for City of Toronto Open Data saying something like:

Contains public sector Datasets made available under the
City of Toronto's Open Data Licence v2.0.
http://www.toronto.ca/open/licence

Would it be acceptable to use the applicable data sets in OpenStreetMap?

Examples of contributor entries for Canada are here:
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Contributors#Canada

An example of data usable under the UK Open Government Licence:
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Contributors#UK:_Ordnance_Survey_.28OpenData.E2.84.A2.29

Many thanks,
Stewart

CIPPIC released a paper on how to redistribute/acknowledge datasets from open data portals: http://www.cippic.ca/sites/default/files/CIPPIC%20-%20How%20to%20Redistribute%20Open%20Data.pdf

Following their advice, the text you wrote would be acceptable. I'm not sure, however, where this text must appear within OSM.
