Hey guys. Sorry for the lapse in time with getting back to you. See
detailed explanation below...

Current Status: (Storage1.DataStorageUnit.Com)
Unfortunately I have come to the conclusion that this server is not
coming back up. As inconvenient as that is, it's not a complete
loss. Your data on that server has survived, however ... it is
incredibly difficult to transfer back to datastorageunit.com.
However, that does not mean it cannot be retrieved.

Backup Server: (Storage2.DataStorageUnit.Com)
The backup server is still online and healthy. However, it
doesn't stay completely in sync with the primary server. But it does
stay close enough that many of you are likely not to be affected.
It's possibly that it could be behind a few months for some of you.

What Now?:
Step one is going to be to get your account active on Storage2.
let you connect, take a look around...run a backup...etc...see how
much your data is out of sync. Hopefully you'll find that your data
is as it was. Some of you will...some of you wont.

What if My Data is Not in Sync?
or...My Backups are Behind?
If either of these scenarios apply to you. You have some
options. Your best option is to re-run your upload/backup and let
that begin to get you back in sync. If this poses a serious issue for
you...I can attempt to retrieve your data from Storage1 by means of
manually copying and physically transferring that data back to the
datacenter. Please understand that this will take some time to
complete & is a very tedious task.

What if I have no local copy of my data at all?
As bad as this practice is...it could be the case for some
that aren't following best practices...or just had a really bad day
and lost their local file copies. Please let me know if this is the
case, and I'll begin copying your data using the manual process I have
available. This will take some time.

Are you sure you can't get the server back online?
I have came to that conclusion. A better man may always have
some trick up his sleeve...but at this point, I don't feel it's in
anyone's interest that I get too experimental here. Just to give you
the cliffnotes of what has taken place, I've been through about 20
different ISO's for attempting various different things all the way
down to bypassing the current Raid card and attempting to boot off a
single sata drive...to no avail. I really believe we've encountered a
hardware issue of some sort.

Feel free to comment below...but I may not respond here. Although,
this will be the official "update" location for what is taking place.
Also, because I want to keep this Discussion clean and easy to keep up
with...I may clear posts out that take place here. If any status
changes take place I will update that here.

I plan on having everyone logging into storage2 with updated
credentials by Monday.

More details on this...
For those of you who stumble upon this request via a link on Facebook,
Twitter, Email, or other...and Are wondering why they didn't get an
email from me sooner. Please understand that I have not just
neglected to notify you. I won't be sending a mass announcement of
this event to everyone at the same time. Although that may seem like
the appropriate first response...I believe it would be a mistake to do
so. I want to try and spread the load of backups that are catching
back up as much as I can. My plan is to have everyone notified over
the course of the next 30 days...most may find out naturally as they
see failed connect attempts to Storage1. Those who don't, will be
notified via emails sent out over the course of the coming 30 days.

Over the course of the next 90 days, I expect everyone to be
completely migrated & all backups up to date. Even those who are late
to be notified should have their account back in order by then. Each
person that requests his/her updated password info...is checked off
the list so that I know who still needs to be notified. I will be
sure to notify everyone via email within the next 30 days. Trial
accounts will be suspended during this time frame to allow more
support focus as well as server/bandwidth resources to be dedicated to
paying customers.

Continuing this service with no "Fail-Over Server" is not acceptable
for me. 90 days from now I will resume efforts to get Storage1 back
online again...except this time it will take on the Role of "Fail-Over/
Backup Server". So, please remember to always keep a local copy of
your data as well as what you store on DataStorageUnit.Com. Take
special care to follow that rule over the course of the next 90 days.
This 90 day period will also double as a grace period in which your
data on Storage1 will still be retrievable if absolutely necessary.

Storage1 is back up and running again, in a Test environment. All
data has been preserved. I hope to have the server back in the Rack
before too long...except this time, it will take the role of "failover
server".

Good news especially about the zero data loss.

Cheers,

Phil...
