I'm new to trying DataStorageUnit; so far I haven't gotten it to work.
First, my Linux based NAS is down, which is what I normally plan to
use, so I tried downloading & installing DeltaCopy for Windows, which
got some good reviews but nothing with DataStorageUnit.

When I try to connect with it, I get "Unable to connect to remote
host". As hostname, I tried both "storage.datastorageunit.com:22" &
just "storage.datastorageunit.com". I tried both "Connect with ssh"
and without. I put my username & password. No luck.

Has anyone used DeltaCopy with DSU? Is there something wrong with how
I'm connecting to DSU?

Thanks for any advice.

Paul

I have no experience with DeltaCopy, but to check your connection etc. you can download Putty and see if you can connect to your account.

Maybe this will help:
http://forum.synology.com/wiki/index.php/Backup_to_the_Synology_Server_using_DeltaCopy_with_SSH

deltacopy =/= windows client tool , right ?

I use linux and rsync works just fine ;)

With kind regards,
Remke

DeltaCopy essentially uses Cygwin to accomplish what it does using Rsync.  cwRsync is my preference for a windows version of Rsync as opposed to DeltaCopy, mainly because it keeps it basic by not making an attempt at a lame GUI that doesnt work well.  They use the same executable files in the background.

cwRsync works via the command line just as Rsync does in Linux.

Go to the website's support page and there are some videos that walk you through getting started with cwRsync.
