Hello,

I got a request for DR from a DVD or CD. I think was burned to fast so it don't read good or stable.

I don't own specialized equpment but I have a lot of old CD- and DVD-drives. I know could try them and see if one can read it.

AS I remember small scratches I can polish away with a CD repair kit.

Is there also some software which could help me?

Thanks for your tipps.

This was just discussed in the Techibble forum.  Not sure you can see it if not registered.

isobuster is one

I also have a cd that I have been trying to read with no luck.

They 1 and 0's are actually colored dyes that are changed with the laser during burning
they dont have physical pits
over time they degrade
the dyes fade or bleed.

The dyes in cave paintings seem to last forever. :-)
