Hi everyone,

I have a Seagate Barracuda Compute ST8000DM004 drive that came into the shop with a damaged HSA from a drop. I swapped some heads in and was able to read the drive for about 5GB worth of data before it died again. During the entire read process I got the message

recov servo op=0900 resp=0005 repeadedly.

And the heads died rather quickly.

Any ideas on what to do next?

Thank you,
Chris

That error message is head failure. Not sure if you can swap head adaptives on those drives, I suspect you can’t.
