The firmware architecture is Arch 7. I believe this is currently unsupported. I have written a ROM parsing tool, but it won't help you.

I found the following statement in the product manual:

Power Loss Data Protection — Upon power loss, the drive utilizes stored spindle energy to back up the HDD cache to on- board flash. This allows deeper write queues which boosts performance, while minimizing data loss/corruption such as write splices that can occur during unexpected power losses.

It has no bearing on the OP's problem, but it suggests that this feature may be present in many more HDD makes and models. ISTM that in those cases where there are multiple ROMs, there would be a risk of contaminating the patient's data with the donor's cache if only the primary ROM were transferred from patient PCB to donor PCB.

Perhaps you could try the patient's heads in the donor?

Is this your PCB?

There are 3 pads (J3) near the jumper block. The middle pad is grounded, but I expect that the outside pads are the Tx and Rx pair of a UART port. You could experiment with this port, but I suspect that the terminal will be locked.

It's different firmware, so it may work differently. You won't know unless you try.

FWIW, someone was trying to access the UART port in a helium HGST drive:
