Hello World :)

My patient card is out of order, the motor chip out excatly ( i thing ) i have short circuit for motor contact

Patient and donnor card are a same reference 100749730 RevA
i read firmware flash from patient and i write flash code to donnor chip, by erase/write/verifie proc, on the donnor contol card

Observation: the code of firmware the donnor and patient, are not the same for firmware code appears crypted !!!!

I put donnor card to the patient disk and i get this

Perform a double download without a power cycle


Is there a procedure for mix flash code ? or i must transfer the big chip "seagate" too :(

Few things:-

 

Was the donor board from the same model drive?

 

How did you read the patient ROM?

 

If the data looks like garbage (and it was not read on the PC3K) it may have been read with the wrong settings.

 

You could just remove the patient ROM from the board and transfer it to the patient.

 

All the above being said, if this drive had a significant power surge (and it sounds like it has) then the preamp may well have got fried. IMHO The log message below normally refers to head issues.

same MODEL ST3000DM001
same P/N 1ER166-570
same FW CC46
same PCB Number 100749730 REVA


Patient Date 16175 & Donnor Date 15521
i don't know how to decode date

PCB flash code are different
Patient 9024C & Donnor 9021C

PCB Flash code are differrent, pearhars firmware bios too. It's for that i mind it garbage


the PCB of patient is out of order , i read the eeprom with flash reader

Patient flash rom is Winbon 25Q80
Donnor flash rom is 25S81 01 LNBU


is not a good new for me , if preamps have got fried

Best if you unsolder the ROM from the patient and put it on the donor board. That way you know you have an exact matching board to try. If it still clicks and gives the same message its probably preamp. A tool like PC3K would be able to confirm that.
