I have this seagate
sounds great
but its stays BSY
I can hit ^Z and get the F3> prompt briefly
but it goes away too quick to do anything

I patched the rom for this start pause

None of the other rom patches were accepted

I have tried the short terminal led bd solution
but can never get it to the F3>

I have done this many times before.

Any ideas?

yes it is kc firmware

I asked ACE about it.
They said to do this.
when the message Press any key to continue FW boot! appears, you need to short-circuit any two contacts on the motor, short-circuit them, and then remove the short-circuit. After the motor stops, you need to remove the PCB. Do not turn off the power.

I do that
and I can get terminal with the board disconnected.
whats next?

Have you replaced heads?

If yes, set them back on donor and verify them

LEDxxxBD is quite always bad heads related

it is weird that the self Acelab support forgets it... since the info comes from them selves 😁

Thanks abdur for the patched rom.
This let me get to F3
But I couldnt backup the critical resources like 28
I let ace dial in and not sure what they did but it worked.
Got the drive all imaged.

I have had lots of these BSY led-cc drives.
I have always been able to get to terminal but this one would not.
Thanks

I dont recall ever swapping heads when I get this.
Its a firmware SA problem that fixes it.

I made a video of what ace did so I will let you know when I see their steps.
Thanks
