Seagate 8TB Hard Drives

Just in case you haven't seen this yet. Seagate just announced they were releasing 8TB hard drives.

smr sounds scary to me.

So you overlap the tracks to increase density.

In order to make a change you have to erase a section of tracks and then rewrite them.

So what happens if theres a power fail in that moment?

I am sure they have a solution.

Just like usb thumbs have caps to provide last minute power - but sometimes that power is not enough.

looks great on paper.

seagates already have firmware issues and flaws...

I think they already think they got it perfected due to the release of the drives. I'm just wondering how well these drives would work with the DDI from a data recovery stand point.
