I had this clicking 3TB come in with a damaged slider.

I changed the HSA and now the click is gone and the drive remains running with DRDY and DSC. It detects but with lower/wrong LBA count.
What else could this drive need? My understanding is that it may need adjustments made with a PC3K or a new set of more compatible heads.

Can anyone shed any more light on this?

Some Seagate's will return junk in the drive ID when the heads haven't read anything on the platter.

I'm fighting with Seagate drives at present too.

Do you have F3 Terminal access to the drive?

If you are asking if I have terminal access to the drive, yes. It seems so.
 Have any ideas?

If the terminal won't give you access to the F3 Prompt then you're kinda stuck.

Sometimes if you hit CTRL + Z after/and leaving it sit for 5min it will drop you to the F3 prompt and from there you can test heads by using /7 then X or if you have PC-3k you can read some of the system files from the terminal which may help if the heads are fine.

If that doesn't work, there is a process where you can short out the read channel at a specific point during the startup routines and hit CTRL + Z and it will drop you to the F3 Prompt and you can run some tests etc from there.
