About unlock WD PCBs and ROM restauration on WC SMR drives

Hello friends!

I would like to ask a question:

I am trying to reproduce the procedure for unlocking WD Palmer HDD PCBs using what is being described in this post:

I have all the requirements and in all ROM restoration procedures, when I record the restored ROM in the BIOS and solder it to the original (locked) PCB, the PCB does not unlock.

I've tried dozens of methods and this is killing me ...

I ask because I'm thinking that unlocking cards will be absolutely necessary when dealing with Spyglass2 disks. Acelab said yesterday at the conference that the procedure for unlocking Spyglass cards is the same as for Palmer (blog).

Yesterday at the Acelab conference, Sergei showed the unlocking process using the difference of the hidden module 1A2. Is this module the secret to unlocking?

I'm still trying to understand everything and the process of restoring the ROM on SMR disks I can't seem to get it to work.

Can you help me?
