Customers drive is
wd30nmvw-11c3ns2_e7w5 800041-0-p1 pebbleb
drive wasnt spinning.
read rom
verified rom
unlocked and blocked 02
light was flashing drive would not spin up

board seemed flaky - finally found a cracked fuse - board is now stable.
removed caps, soldered sat
still cant get access to SA
still wont spin up.

I suspect that the rom may be corrupt

I take a donor board sam exact model drive.
WD30NMVW-11C3NS2-01-01A01-WD-WXC1E25D0PY3 800041-0-p1 pebbleb

With this board and donor rom
drive spins up and tries to come ready
sounds great - but because rom doesnt match it cant come ready.
stays spinning

program customer rom E7W5 into donor 0py3 board
drive lights, no spin

What is wrong with this?

I have attached both roms

Can you switch adaptiives or check rom for problems?

If I can access service area then I could transplant cpu to access user area

Thanks

Your patient and donor ROMs are identical except for the adaptives. A simple comparison in a hex editor will confirm that.

All the active ROYL modules have 0x00000000 checksums.
