Portable SSDs with onboard USB bridge

Hello gents.
I have an portable  HP (p700) SSD 1TB
The pc3k USB utility recognises only the onboard USB bridge controller (JMSS83).

Have anyone tried to bypass the usb controller and connect it directly over PCIe/NVMe ?

What do you guys do normally with this onboard USB SSDs in general? do you deal with them in similar ways as onboard USB HDDs ?

The ssd controller is HP version off SM2263EN which supose to be supported by the nvme SSD utility.

You could use the pinout diagram to make a direct PCIe connection to the SMI controller.
