I received this Seagate that starts up fine with no tick or heads scrape noise but with 0 capacity, I manage to write unlock ROM and backup all relevant modules, on boot I get this BOOT message in the beginning and then ends with LED 000BD that makes me believe it is a CACHE error but most of my commands it return with no comm found:

When u say (in the title): "No CAP"
are u referring to the adaptive CAP file (Controller Adaptive Parameters)?

Thanks Tim but I get this on the patient PCB and after I wrote the ROM to the donor PCB I get the same error message

A lot of times only the first few sectors of the MCMT is unreadable
Try if u can read some random sectors of it elsewhere

issuing /CU10 can result in lost data
