TOSHIBA 2.5 ROM NO SPIN

HI ALL GUYS 

                        I AM HAVING A CASE OF TOSHIBA 2.5 DRIVE WITH CARD NO G002872A THE ISSUE IS DRIVE IS NOT SPINING .I HAD REPLACED CARDS BUT THE ISSUE IS IN THE ROM.

I DID THE ROM READ WELL NO ISSUES IN READING DRIVE IS SHOWING DRD DSC QUICKLY BUT DRIVE DOSN`T SPINS CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME  WITH THIS CASE

I have patched the patient's CP section into the donor ROM at offsets 0x70000 - 0x7FFFF.

If the drive still doesn't spin, then perhaps a PUIS flag has been set. I don't know where it would be located, though.

also i put the rom you provide  then drive spins up but knocking and busy only heads are good and platter too.

is that possible that donor and patient rom has differences that cause knocking ??

should i search other donor rom boss

AIUI, those old Toshibas store all their program code in the ROM. There are no additional overlays (loaders, etc) in the SA, only data modules such as SMART, G-list, P-list, security. Therefore, ISTM that the patient drive should work with the donor's ROM code, if the media is OK.

I think the serial numbers and model number are in the SN and MN CPs. I can't find the drive's serial number (93A2P011F) in either ROM.

Are you sure the PCB is native?

I can't see a manufacture date on the label of the drive.

Can you identify the YWW or YYWW (Year/Week) date codes on the ICs, including the ROM? If the ROM date code differs greatly from the other ICs, then you will know that it has been transpalneted.

If you can't do this, then post a detailed photo of the PCB and I'll do it for you. Alternatively, just tell me the markings on the chips.

The MCU is dated "1140", ie week 40 of 2011.

The SMOOTH IC is dated "136", week 36 of 2011.
