ABRT errors on WD7500AAKS

I have a Western Digital WD7500AAKS 750 GB desktop drive that came out of a USB enclosure.  The drive shows up fine in MHDD, but testing gives ABRT errors for every sector.  I verified that the ATA password was not set.  Hooking up to the DeepSpar, it does not see the drive unless I use the -s parameter, in which case it sees the drive and it is recognized properly, but imaging gives ABRT to every sector.

 

Any ideas on what is going on? I haven't seen this before, but it sounds like the commands aren't making it to the drive properly?  My first guess would be PCB swap unless anybody has experience with a similar issue.
