Anybody know of someone who has successfully performed cleanroom data recovery on a helium drive?
The helium is one big obstacle
the firmware is another
drivesavers quoted $3000.... but can they actually do it?
I found this comment
"I sent this drive to Drivesavers, Ontrack, Secure Data Recovery, DIGILAB, and spoke on the phone with someone from Gillware. They don't have the technology yet to recover this specific helium drive."

Nikola from HDDSurgery said they can recover Seagate Helium.
"we have developed solution to access Fw and recover data from Seagate Helium drives. If someone needs this we can provide service"

My experience with Drive Savers and helium drives is that they haven't been able to recover any that needed to be opened up. The price sounds low too because I thought their standard quote is $3900 minus 10%.

I have a 16tb helium seagate to send out.
clicking
probaby crashed but not obvious noises.
assuming it can be recovered with 1 head swap..
What is a ballpark that morde or anybody else is quoting ?
I need to throw a ballpark to my client but have no idea the range to suggest?

I think it starts at about $3,500 (I think). But each case has to be quoted depending on the condition of the drive. Best check with Miguel.

And the cost of parts of parts is ridiculous. May want to charge an attempt fee.
