We sometimes get aged DVDs, that are more or less unreadable most likely due to corrosion on the reflecting film – normally clients don’t want to pay for us to take it much further – and sometimes our hacked DVD reader, where we can adjust the laser a bit does the trick. But once in a while there’s a case where it would be nice to have more opportunities

So do any one know of procedures / tools that can help with these cases?

Have you tried to read also with IsoBuster?

My lab did tests with the Disc-Go-Devil. We saved files to a CD/DVD and scratched the heck out of each disc with a screwdriver. We ran the CD/DVD through the Disc-Go-Devil and were able to recover the files.

Don't know if that would help your situation.
