Quickbooks Question

Good afternoon. I have a customer who tried to upgrade his old Macbook Pro to the latest OS and things went south and the laptop would no longer boot. I was able to get all of his data for him but his Quickbooks won't open on his repaired computer. The Quickbook files were apparently backed up on the morning he had his failed upgrade. Are there any Quickbook repair tools out there or any other suggestions? He is freaking out.

QB do their own repair tool called QB Doctor.
