Hi
Is there any chance to initilze this disk in PC3000 or some other utility?
This is client disk in fw freeze status. I tried some templates in PC3000 none could help me. I tried to setup manualy some parameters but no luck.
Is there any chance to save data from this disk?

It usese Maxio  MAS11028-B1C chip controller and 2 memory chips YMC6I001b71AA1O
I also tried to warm up chips to try initilze no luck. Also current is 93mA when I start the disk and it jumps once after start to 110mA and go back to 93mA. Compared to other working drive seams normal.
Also I found one donor same model but uses Realtek chip controller and 4 memory chips so I cannot use it to swap chip controller on patient. I assume that this disk dont use SED?

Thanks

If it is a FW issue (rather than PCB) then ACE maybe able to help as they have lots of resources not yet available in the software.

Long story short

At RecuperoDati299 we are very closely in touch with Acelab

in particular with Mr. Roman

The TRAGEDY behind SSDs is that the support is that except some popular and commercial controllers (and anyway there too it may occur the exception)

the tech mode enable and the translator tables read and the virtual translator build are reversed

ONE BY ONE on the base of that SINGLE SSD MODEL (read carefully: "MODEL" not "BRAND" nor SSD brand neither controller brand)

this EXACTLY mean that is a LOST CHALLENGE

PC-3000 support for SSD is the unique but given the amount of brands and models, you can count only on the cheapest Chinese unknown ones

then, when it comes Samsung and others, their encryption F** everything up

If you read my previous emails, I have exposed what we suggest since years now to Acelab

- the development model is totally wrong . Cracking/Reversing SSDs one by one will give the support ALWAYS TOO LATE. Since SSDs have a really short production period for that model, they will survive really shortly compared to an HDD so
- you will receive maybe some two or three in a life for that given model
- which 90% of the times won't be supported since NOT YET CRACKED

a total failure

What we insistently suggest and ask to Acelab (and you ALL too should ask with some nice tickets and or emails)

- approach the topic in "Italian Style Manner"
- send your best business developer to south east at some big SSD manufacturer site
- attempt to find an agreement to get tech modes and JUST the translator tables reading. As counterpart they will have the rights to put a label on the SSD conceptually similar the one Seagate sticks on the USB premium HDDs
- "in case of accident this SSD is supported by Acelab"

As soon they catches ONE manufacturer, the others will follow

------

If an agreement is not established with manufacturers, you can just forget SSDs recovery as "business"

since it will be just matter of a " big bottom " if you receive one that is supported

You seem to be fixated on recovering your SSDs with PC3000. You need to expand your thinking a little.

It seems to me that if DFL and MRT (located in China) don't have any backdoor access to the Chinese SSD market, it is unlikely that ACE will garner any better results.

Bricked firmware is 99% damaged cells in SA
which conversely turns to 99% damages in translator

This imply that the electronics have been already checked

If it is matter of translator and you have an alternative to PC-3000 SSD, your info sharing is welcome 😁

That is an idea we had knowing the people at Acelab we skipped passing it

impossible to suggest a sort of joint venture with any of the two

mean: send someone from DFL or MRT to manufacturers

Could be good for language and confidence but this would be high level management and could it ever happen one day, it must be carried out at the respective top management between the manufacturer and Acela

Many firmware issues are down to poor/lazy firmware design by manufacturers. i.e. relocation tables too small to store the ever increasing bad cells and the firmware collapses.

I watched DeepSpar's video on the future of data recovery. They said that they invited the HDD manufacturers into their premises and showed them how they were doing data recoveries. They were promised cooperation, but instead the manufacturers responded by locking down their firmware.

Do you have the link to that video or any tips on how to find it?
