Hi Guys,

Got a Seagate 320GB 2.5" momentus thin Julius1 family ST320LT007, PN: 9ZV142-022 , FW 0006HPM1.
Doesn't load, not making funny noises so i don't believe its the heads, sound more like a FW issue.
I asked the customer and it is the original PCB, Did someone came across this issue before?

Terminal output:
"Rst 0x10M
LED:000000EE FAddr:0026AC3C
CfwDiscCode Not Loaded: 2002A185
Rst 0x10M

Do you have terminal access? If so what do you get with ctrl-x?

Just read the ROM using the terminal and checked the SN inside which is the right one as shows on the sticker.
So i am suspecting a ROM failure, bummer as far as i'm aware no solution, anyone can suggest otherwise?

Well now you know it’s the correct board which is good. From the message given in terminal I suspect the FW is not being loaded. Have you tried shorting the board to get terminal access? Although its not making any sound, it could be head failure.

yes, it looks like FW is not loading, can be either heads or corrupted ROM, but usually when the heads are gone, the noises from the heads are more obvious and you get some terminal output different from this one.
Will see if the customer wants to invest in a donor drive.

Cheers
