I received a Lexar 64GB jump drive.  Am I able to just swap the memory chip or do I have to do something with the controller?

It's a Lexar:

LJDS70 64G-
000-111 H
33417-64GCA
0612S

I have a LJDS70-64GASBNA REV:C
I was thinking of using that.

I swapped memory chips that were on both chips of the flash drive.
It detects in disk management and says 'no media' with no partition information at all.
Device manager shows 'USB memory bar USB device' but does not show up in 'computer' section. This is pretty much what it was doing before I swapped chips.
Any ideas? Could it be corrupted partition?
Any software I could try? Most that I've run does not see the drive

They are not.

Original is :SM3253L AE
Donor is: SM3255EN Q AA

They are different in dimension as well.
Do they have to match also?

Thanks for the info.
Can I use the controller from a different size flash drive if it has the same numbered controller chips on it?

Once used a product called iCare on a corrupt XD card and it worked. That XD card would not show up as a device either. Might be worth looking at.
