Today Jive Software announced they are officially joining the
DataPortability project and intend to help with and support the
recommendations of the group.

You can learn more about their announcement on their press release

There is an enormous amount of interest in the DataPortability project
and the data portability idea from vendors who are not traditional
social networks. It seems that the marketplace is beginning to
understand that adding social features and user-centric control of
data is the future of most (if not all) applications.

The participation of Jive as an enterprise software vendor is the
first glimpse at this reality.

We welcome their participation, and the continued participation of all
participants to continue the data portability conversation.
