Hi All,

In an attempt to summarise what has been discussed in the groups, and also to get some additional conversation tracks going, I've created a number of technical specifications on the wiki at http://wiki.dataportability.org/display/dpmain/Technical+Specifications.

The aim is to assist with producing solid results during the research and latter phases, providing something structured to work off, and for others joining or outside to refer to. Please feel free to comment on the existing proposals, or to work on initiating your own. We should consider these specifications a never-complete task - if something new needs to be made data portable, then a spec there is how it should happen!

It would also be great if anyone wished to consider building compliance tests for these specifications, so we can start to provide easy mechanisms to validate whether new implementations will integrate easily with other applications.

Paul.

Paul thanks so much for putting these drafts together - they will form a super important basis for the project's technical deliverables.

I look forward to a healthy debate and expansion of these docs now and during the Design Phase of the project.

Thinks should move along rapidly now!

Chris
